Pooch & Mutt Dog Treats - Giveaway!

It's my birthday today so what better way to celebrate than with a giveaway?

My boyfriend Chris grew up in a family of dog lovers whereas we didn't have many pets growing up. Chris's mum has two little doggies at the moment and both C and E love visiting their nanny and playing with the dogs. E is infatuated and is constantly giving hugs, kisses and trying to share her food and drinks.

We live in rental home at the moment with no proper back garden so unfortunately we haven't been able to get our own family dog. We are looking to upgrade to a three bedroom house (with garden!) so getting a dog is definitely on our list of things to do.

Chris has already sort of filled me in on the ins and outs of looking after dogs. Some of it (especially training) confuses me but I'm sure when I'm in the thick of it I'll pick it up.

Pooch & Mutt is the UK's leading natural, ethical and premium dog health company. They offer a wide range of healthy supplements, hand baked treats and yummy foods. We were offered the chance to review some of the products but because we don't have dogs that we are around a lot, I can offer them for my readers to win!

So if you'd like to be in with the chance of winning a pack of 6 x 125g treats of your choice - enter below!

You can choose from:

  • Calm & Relaxed
  • Move Easy
  • Fresh Breath
  • Puppy Development
  • Brain & Train
  • Feel Good
  • Health & Digestion

You can find out more about each variety and which one is perfect for your dog by clicking here.

 Good luck!

It's my favourite time of week! This week has been great for wins! I'm waiting on quite a few still to arrive so long may it continue! As ever, I'm linking up with Look in my Letterbox

Wins:
Tokens
I won these in Life in a Break Down's blog giveaway. Photo is a bit rubbish but two of them say "Chocolate is the answer. Who cares what the question is?" and the other says "Drink wine responsibly. Don't spill it!"

Train set
This was a simple question and answer competition on Bigjigs Rail's Facebook page. This prize is perfect for C as he adores trains. He loves this set.

Nuby newborn set
This was another question and answer Facebook win. My friend is expecting a baby later this year so I'm on the hunt for baby giveaways!
Yes To wipes
Yes To ran a giveaway over both Facebook and Twitter to win a pack of wipes for you and your mum and there were 150 winners!

Doughnut tin

I won this way back in December when Krispy Kreme ran their Facebook app giveaway. After I won this I realised that they would only deliver to mainland UK (I'm in Northern Ireland) so I told my friend Helen (who writes at Mummy to the Max) that she could have it. She very kindly posted it over to me!

Keyring
This is a cute little win from Gibson Creations on Facebook. I love the quote!

This was a win from Toppsta on Facebook. They run tons so I'm so pleased to finally have won with them. C loves his books!

The Simple Things - Feeding the Ducks!

When I first planned on writing this post, I was going to start it with "Spring is on the horizon and the weather is getting better" but looking outside this past couple of days, that's only half true! Nevertheless, we did have a some good days recently so we've made the most of it and tried to have as many family days out as possible.

C has always loved feeding the ducks. We haven't taken him much with the colder weather (because the place we go is a bit of a walk away) so on our first visit of the year, I thought he'd enjoy it even more because he's a little older and I was right. This is also the first time we've been without C being in the buggy. He's a proper little nature lover so the gorgeous walk along the river really excited him. He was pointed out all the animals that he could see as well as the "big trees".

E got out to walk too - her first ever time walking outside! She was a little nervous and she fell over before I had a chance to put the harness on her but she was great. She got a little too cocky and tried to run but knew she'd be okay because I was there to stop her from falling.

We passed a docked boat on the way and C was in absolute awe when his daddy said to him, "Look, it's The Rainbow. Old Jack's boat!" (from CBeebies if you aren't familiar with the wonderful Bernard Cribbins-fronted show). The look on his face was priceless. In his eyes, it was the real deal and I honestly thought I could have cried seeing how happy and excited he was.

We finally got to the ducks and he just exploded with even more excitement. At one point I thought he was going to fall in because he kept jumping! I was a bit cautious about letting E near the water but in the end we just had Chris hold her in his arms and throw food in. She absolutely loved it and kept saying, "duckies! Quack quack!" and even waved and said, "bye!" when we were leaving. Ever since we came back from that trip, C has asked every single day if we can go back to feed them. I definitely think it will have to be a weekly trip during the Spring/Summer!

Blue Kangaroo book series by Emma Chichester Clark - Review

What better day to post a book review than on World Book Day! I hope you (well, the kids!) have all had a fun day dressing up.

I was recently contacted about reviewing new releases in a book series, Blue Kangaroo by Emma Chichester Clark. They are suitable for ages 2-5 so C is target age. How could I say no?

We received all three new books in the series; When I First Met You, Blue Kangaroo!; Happy Birthday, Blue Kangaroo! and Where Are You, Blue Kangaroo?

All of the books focus around a little girl called Lily and her blue toy kangaroo. In the first book, When I First Met You, Blue Kangaroo! we learn just that - how they met. Lily's grandmother gifted Blue Kangaroo to Lily when her little brother Jack was born. She soon discovered that it isn't easy looking after a tiny baby so she can practise with Blue Kangaroo. She goes through some trial and error situations but they love each other instantly. I love this book as a mother because Lily gets a bit upset that she can't do everything as well as her mum can but mum reassures her that she made mistakes when she first had Lily - something that I can relate to! Parenting is all about learning.

In Happy Birthday, Blue Kangaroo! both Blue Kangaroo and Lily are celebrating their birthdays on the same day and are having a party. Lily, like a typical girl, wants everything to be pink from the food to her dress and the wrapping paper that her friends bring. Blue Kangaroo feels a little bit pushed out because he's blue and not pink so he thinks that Lily doesn't like him as much because of his colour. When she realises, Lily soon reassures him and makes him feel happier. I think this was C's favourite of the three books. He felt quite sorry for Blue Kangaroo and kept telling me that he was sad. He was pleased with the happy ending though.

Where Are You, Blue Kangaroo? reminds me a little bit of days out with C. Lily goes out with a few members of her family over different days and always brings Blue Kangaroo along for the trip. Sometimes she gets a little forgetful and leaves him somewhere then can't find him! She always ends up finding him again but Blue Kangaroo gets scared that one day she won't come back for him. As I read this story to C, I made a point of saying "That's why you always need to hold onto your toys tight because you'll lose them" and he kept nodding so I think it sunk in that if he loses a toy, it's lost for good.

Since we received these books, C has always asked for "a blue kangaroo book" at bedtime so he's taken to them quite well. They're a little longer than his usual books which is great, I love that we're moving on from toddler books and getting into something a bit older. The length doesn't bother him, he'll sit through the entire story listening intently. I think this is the first book series that he's owned and he likes hearing about Blue Kangaroo having different adventures. There are nine in total and because of C's love for them, I think I'll have to get my hands on the rest!

Each book retails at £6.99 and they are published by HarperCollins. You can find them at all good high street bookstores and online.

(We received these books for the purpose of this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)

What I've Won: February 2016

I've been a "comper" for four years now but I've only been writing these 'What I've Won' posts for just over two years now. This month saw me win my biggest prize to date and I still can't quite believe it. In February, I won:

1) YT Club Flexi Tripod (RRP £29.99) from Kelly Pendragon
Just before I won this I actually said to Chris that I really needed to get a tripod for blog photos so it was perfect timing. I'm totally over the moon.

2) Power bar from DPG plc
This hasn't arrived yet but it's a nice handy little win! It was a simple Twitter competition where you had to say what empowers you to succeed.

3) Face mask from Ooharr UK
They were giving away tons of these on both Twitter and Facebook I think. A nice little treat!

4) Renshaw Icing & Shaun the Sheep book (RRP £5.90) from Renshaw Baking
Renshaw was hosting this competition to celebrate the release of the new Shaun the Sheep DVD. C loves Shaun so I'm really glad I won for him. We're going to make Frozen themed buns with the icing as it's the perfect colour.

5) Rainbow Painter & Buzz Art stencils (RRP £21.00) from Hamleys Toys
Hamleys Toys do a Monday Quiz every week from 5.15pm. I enter when I can remember and I think I only remembered to enter this one close to midnight. You just have to answer a few questions to enter. This prize is perfect for C.

6) Card (£3.50) from Green Rose Prints and Cards
This was a little greetings card and it was an Instagram win - super handy to have.

7) Kiss toilet roll from Ideal Standard UK
This was a bit of an odd win! It was a Valentine's Day retweet to win competition on Twitter. I love a novelty prize.

Chris is a bit of a tie collector so when I saw this competition on Twitter. They were giving away "a dozen ties for a dozen guys". The tie is amazing quality and it looks pretty pricey. I can't find a retail price for it anywhere online though.

9) £15 spend at Mama et Moi
This was a little Facebook win. It was pretty low entry and I'm obsessed with buying kids clothes.

10) Men's razor (RRP £6.00) from Beauty at Tesco
They were giving away 100 of these on Twitter but with 1000+ entries, I didn't expect to win! A nice little win for Chris.

11) £60 spend at Koko Kids from This Enchanted Pixie
I'm so so pleased with this win. I love wall stickers so they'll be perfect for redecorating their bedrooms.

12) Jools drinks (RRP £4.05) from Jools Drinks
This was just a retweet to win competiton on Twitter. I love finding new food and drinks companies!

13) Bow holder (RRP £12.00) from xlilbowpeepx
I am over the moon with this win! I buy so many bows for E and I've already made her a bow holder but it only holds a fraction of her bows. So excited for this to arrive.

14) Keyring (RRP £3.00) from Gibson Creations
This was a Facebook win. They do lots of different keyring designs so it was a tough choice!

15) £1000 shopping spree at Ted Baker
This was my biggie! Ted Baker had a Valentine's competition where you had to hook some ducks and if you got a match, you were entered into the main prize draw. I always enter competitions like this and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the winning email. I was shaking and when I phoned Chris he said it sounded like I was going to cry! Can't wait to shop!

16) Women's razor (RRP £5.45) from Wilkinsons Sword Women
They had ten of these to give away over on Twitter on #RandomActsOfKindness day. How funny that I win a men's and women's razor in the same month!

17) Robinsons glass from Robinsons
They were giving away tons of these over Facebook and Twitter and I didn't see the competition until ages after it had started. So chuffed to have won - they're so cute. Plus Chris keeps breaking our glasses!

18) Cheerz photo box (RRP £13.00) from Squidgyboo
I take far too many pictures but never get them printed so this is such a brilliant win. Now for the hard task of choosing which pictures to print!

19) Nuby starter set (RRP £14.99) from Nuby UK
I have a friend who is expecting a baby so I've started entering for baby items too. I entered this not long after she told me she was expecting and I'm so pleased to have won it for her. Hoping I can win her some more nice goodies!

20) Glass tokens (RRP £38.97) from Life in a Break Down
I've been entering Sarah's competitions for years and this is the first I've won. I thought I'd only won one so I was surprised when three arrived!

21) Bigjigs train set (RRP £30.99) from Bigjigs Rail
I love Bigjigs toys. I always enter their competitions and this prize is perfect for C. He's obsessed with trains and I can't wait for it to come.

22) Lionheart book (RRP £5.59) from Toppsta
I always forget to enter the Toppsta book giveaways but luckily I managed to do this months one. If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll see that I do quite a lot of children's book reviews so this is perfect for the kids.

In February I won 22 prizes worth a total of £1,169.43.
