Bob the Builder Magazine

C loves watching TV, something that I always said my kids wouldn't be obsessed with, but I have to admit that he has learned a lot from some shows that he watches and recently Bob the Builder has become one of his favourites.

We had the opportunity to have a little read of the new Bob the Builder magazine from Egmont. C is a huge magazine fan anyway so I was sure it would go down a treat.

The magazine came included with a toy hammer and activity book. The hammer I think was his favourite aspect of it.

The actual magazine is packed full of his favourite characters,  stories, colouring in and plenty of other activities to keep your little ones entertained. Usually I don't see a lot of variety in magazines but this seemed to have a lot more pages than ones we've bought recently. It contains everything from mazes, to number lines to help your child with their writing and even has a poster in the middle!

As you can see from my video below, the hammer and colouring were definitely C's favourites so the fact that it also comes with a completey separate activity book alongside the activities already in the magazine makes it a total winner for only £3.99.

You can get your hands on the new look Bob the Builder magazine at most newsagents and supermarkets.

Mr Tumble's Big Book of Counting - Review

I was so pleased to receive an email from Egmont asking if we'd like to review their Mr Tumble's Big Book of Counting. C loves Cbeebies and anything with Justin Fletcher is a huge hit.

I was really happy to see that it is a hardbacked book. C has a habit of being a little rough with his books and he always puts them in his mouth. When he noticed Mr Tumble on the front, a huge smile crept upon his face. He recognised him instantly!

We made our way through the book and C was a little excited and kept trying to turn the pages before we'd even finished the one that we were on! I love the little rhymes as they keep C entertained. I did find on a few occasions that he tried to copy the sound of the number after I said it which was just what we were aiming for.

This is a lift-the-flap book and C was able to lift these himself. He loved seeing all the characters that he knew from the TV show such as Grandad Tumble and Aunt Polly.

This is definitely a great way to teach children to count to five as they can associate it with characters that they're used to seeing. There are also questions such as "Can you count 1?" to encourage your child to repeat it back to you. This is definitely going to be one of our favourites and I know that C will be counting to five with the help of this book.

Little Robin's Christmas

I love reading books to C. I loved to read books as a child too so I really hope that he will be the same. We recently received a copy of Little Robin's Christmas and I was so excited to get reading a festive book to him.

The story is about a little robin redbreast who, at Christmastime irons out 7 vests for himself ready for the cold days ahead. He bumps into some friends on his journey outside and notices that they are all cold so he shares out his vests until he  doesn't have any left (even for himself!). I won't spoil the ending but it is very happy as someone comes to HIS rescue.

It is a really lovely book and is beautifully illustrated. It teaches kindess, selflessness and a little bit of karma too! C is only 15 months old so he only really enjoys hearing us read it to him and looking at the pictures but I hope to read this book to him every Christmas and hope he learns a little something!

You can buy your own copy of Little Robin's Christmas from Egmont at a fab price of £6.99.
