Tarquin and Troops Children's Prints - Review & Giveaway

Living in a rental home means that we are limited when it comes to how we can decorate. In order to make it a bit more homely and feel like ours, I tend to buy a lot of wall hangings and pictures to brighten the place up as we cannot wallpaper or paint. Whenever I heard about Tarquin & Troops, I was drawn in by their beautiful prints.

Tarquin and Troops prints are all about different animals from around the world in everyday uniforms. They are aimed at children and it's a bit of a tongue in cheek look at professions and celebrities. We received five prints from the Tarquin and Troops Etsy store and I couldn't wait to display them in the children's room; Stanford the Sloth Bear Sailor, Reginald the Rhino Soldier, Benjamin Bear Policeman, Chef Seymour the Snake and Bernard the Bengal Tiger Bus Conductor.

The prints come unframed but as they are A4 size, I was able to pick up five frames for only £1.85 each at IKEA that suited perfectly. I love a black frame as they really make the image pop. The quality of the prints is absolutely fantastic, no fading and they are so bright and colourful - perfect for any child's bedroom, play room or nursery. The animals are so happy and friendly and the children fell in love right away.

C was very excited to tell me where he wanted to put them in his room. I spoke to him about the names of each character and what their job is (although he does refer to Reginald the Rhino Soldier as the Grand Old Duke of York!). I feel that because each one already has a name and "profession", it encourages children to maybe come up with a little background for them and create a persona for them. C and E were familiar with some of the animals' occupations such a chef and policeman but they did ask a lot of questions about the others. I didn't even realise that they would be such an educational resource too.

The prints are so fun and make me smile when I see them - something that the children do too! The Tarquin and Troops animal prints are available to purchase from Etsy via digital download for £4.80 each. You can view the entire range at the Tarquin and Troops Etsy page or follow them on Instagram or Facebook.

I also have a giveaway for my readers with two chances to win! To be in with a chance of winning two Tarquin and Troops prints for yourself, just fill in the Gleam widget below. Good luck!

EllieBeanPrints - Review & Giveaway

I wrote recently about wanting to upgrade E's nursery to a big girl bedroom. I noticed that EllieBeanPrints had tweeted looking for bloggers to work with so I thought it would be great to get a nice piece for her wall.

EllieBeanPrints do a range of prints for many occasions such as weddings, births, teachers and so much more. Although there is a Nursery collection, I didn't want anything too babyish and I wanted it to grow with her and have a print that would suit her room for quite a while. I had a nosey through some of the Quotes collection and as soon as I spotted the 'Fierce Print' which displays famous Shakespeare quote "and though she be but little, she is fierce", I had to choose that one.

It's a quote that I really love and the black and pink colours would match the decor that I already have for her room. I received the A4 (11.7" x 8.3") print on standard satin lustre paper. It does come unframed but once I found myself an A4 frame and was ready to hang it.

It looks absolutely beautiful on the wall and it's quickly become one of my favourite pieces of decor in E's room. The A4 print costs £13 but you can get the same in lots of different sizes, ranging from greeting card (£4.00) to A4 with a frame and mounted for £38.00.

You can find out more about the print collections at the EllieBeanPrints website or you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

The lovely people at EllieBeansPrints have offered my readers a giveaway too! You can win £15 to spend at the website so you can get yourself a print or put it towards a framed one - totally up to you! All you have to do is fill in the Rafflecopter widget below. Little Sweet Designs - Review

I know I'm only 14 weeks pregnant but I'm already thinking about what Baby #2's nursery will be like. Little Sweet Designs very kindly sent me a beautiful print to get me started with the decorating process.

I received the Up, Up and Away print and it really is beautiful. It arrived in a sturdy envelope to ensure that no damage would occur in transit and when I opened it, I discovered that it was wrapped in white tissue paper with a rope bow around it. A lovely touch!

I think that the colours are pretty neutral so it will be suitable in either a boys or girls room. It's a gorgeous addition to a child's bedroom or baby's nursery and they do a wide range of prints and room decor.

Prices start at £8.00 and you can get it framed or unframed.

They also currently have a limited edition print that I wanted to tell you all about. As you know, my son was born prematurely and Bliss Charity is a charity that is close to my heart. Sweet Little Designs have a limited edition print - You Are My Sunshine...Elephant Love - which is £18 to buy. Proceeds from this print will be donated to Bliss Charity. A wonderful cause.

You can find out more about Little Sweet Designs on their website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter

Truprint

If there's anything I love more than personalised items, it's something that I can get my own photographs printed onto.

Truprint is my idea of heaven. They have been up and running for 30 years and only employ the highest trained staff and the latest technology to ensure great prints and great service.

Truprint offer a wide range of products from your regular photographs to canvases, coasters, calendars and many, many more!

I was lucky enough to receive a few items from Truprint's range of fantastic products.

Isn't this gorgeous? This print is 12"x12" and is a price of £29.99. The quality is absolutely fantastic and it looks great hung up on the wall. As you can see, my photograph is placed on the front. It wasn't a brilliant quality photo so I decided not to stretch it as I didn't want it pixelated. I went for a black background and I think it works really well!

This photobook comes with 20 pages of photographs and measures 11"x8". I love the hardback cover (you can choose your own colour too!). The process of creating the books makes it really easy to insert your backgrounds onto each page or you can automatically fill them. You can even add text to the bottom of each photo. The hardback cover and glossy pages definitely make it worth the amazing £19.99 price tag.

These coasters are amazing! They are like nothing I've ever seen before. They are shiny and glossy and are printed on so I don't have to worry about the picture peeling off. They're thick too and give a lovely personalised touch to your dining room. Would you believe that they are only £9.99 for 6!?

These are my favourite! From New Baby to Wedding, there are so many different occasions and designs to choose from. With Christmas approaching I had to opt for the Christmas cards. Again, they have a glossy cover and you are giving a blank page inside to write whatever message you want. They are available in a pack of 12 (with envelopes included) for £11.99.

I'm always forgetting birthdays and appointments and I'm not a fan of the plain calendars that you can buy in the shops. I love the idea of having my own photos on my calendar. The boxes for each day and month are big enough to fill in whatever appointment that you need to remember. As with the photobook, you are easily able to put coloured backgrounds behind each photo. This 12 month calendar measures 11"x8.5" and is available at a price of £14.99.

Inserting your photographs into any of these products is so easy. There is an online editor and you are able to choose whether to upload your photos from your computer or you can import them from Facebook or Flickr.

I would definitely recommend Truprint and I know for sure that I'll be purchasing from them again in the future. The quality of all the products are fantastic.

You can find out more about Truprint at their website, Facebook and Twitter.

Arthouse Review

Arthouse are one of the country's leading suppliers of home decoration products such as wallcoverings, wall art, screens, photo frames and coving & tiles.

For over a decade they have been designing trend led products for the interiors market. I love finding new items to make my house feel more homely and I received a gorgeous Metro Framed Print to review.

We live in a rented property so therefore are unable to decorate the house how we want it. Our walls are cream so we try our best to make it look homely.

I've always wanted my living room to be black, red and cream so as soon as I saw the Metro Print I knew it would fit right in. I did spend ages scouring the website though. They have a really fantastic range of products. I've already got my eye on a few other pieces that I want to buy!

The print was packaged really well with cardboard coverings on each corner to prevent damage. It measures 25cm tall with a width of 70cm. It is a real eye-catcher and fills the bare walls in my home beautifully.

I love the black and white image with a splash of red. It really makes it pop. Despite obviously having a glass covering over the print, it is really quite light so I have no worries about it falling down. It also comes with two wall hooks so you can pop it up on the wall securely.

This print can be purchased for a fantastic price of £35.

You can find out more about Arthouse at their website, Facebook and Twitter.

Crazy Circus Character Print Review

Last month, I posted about Art.co.uk's 'Art Sparks Learning' campaign (you can read that post here). Basically, members of the public can nominate schools that will each receive 18 framed art prints to decorate the school and inspire their students. It's such a great project and I'm happy that stuff like this exists as art is so important.

Art.co.uk very kindly sent me out one of their framed prints. I was able to choose my own & I opted for Crazy Circus Characters as it would go very nicely in C's 'Jungle Circus' themed nursery.

I was really excited to receive it and it was a lot bigger that I'd expected (I received a 76x102cm print). The colours are so bright and perfect for stimulating young minds. The print itself and frame are fantastic quality and I was eager to get it up on the wall.

Isn't it beautiful? C couldn't stop staring at it so I'm thinking that he likes the colours!

On the back, I found this little sticker:

I think that this is a lovely touch and makes it seem really personalised. I absolutely love having this up and any school that receives prints similar to this one are in for a treat.

Nominations for schools are unfortunately closed now, but if you want to nominate for next time round, you can! Visit www.art.co.uk/artevent to nominate a deserving school to receive artwork through the Art Sparks Learning campaign and to learn more about the previous schools in the program.

They aren't just for schools though, you can buy them yourself! This print including frame is worth £84.99 but if you want, you can buy it in different sizes/frames. Have a nosey here.

Happy shopping!
