Christmas Gift Ideas: Brita Fill & Go

As I get older, I find that for Christmas rather than wanting people to spurgle on something material, I'd quite like something useful! The Brita Fill & Go caught my eye a while ago. I very rarely drink anything during the day which is awful so when I got the chance to try one, I hoped it would help me finally get my eight litres a day into me!

If you don't know what a Brita Fill & Go bottle is, basically it is a water bottle that filters the water you drink as you drink it. The bottle is easy enough to set up. You get a pack of four filters, each of these last one week so four weeks worth. Once you've washed and rinsed your bottle, you simply need to submerge the filter in water for a minute then place it holder which then goes inside the lid. When you've filled your bottle with water you're ready to go! The filter in the lid means that you're drinking fresh, filtered tap water every time. It comes with a straw so you can use that or it can be removed for tipping back instead.

I grew up in a house where we never drank tap water, only filtered so I honestly think these are the best inventions ever.

The bottle holds 600ml of water and it's a great size to hold and easy to carry around. The lid can open easily (one handedly) and doesn't get in the way of the spout when drinking. It's completely BPA-free and dishwasher friendly. We received a grey bottle but if that's not you prefer a bit of colour you can also choose from green, blue or pink.

Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup

With E getting older, we've been trying to find the best cup for her to drink water out of whilst having meals or dealing with this unbearable heat we've been having lately! As part of our role as Munchkin Bloggers, we received one of their Miracle 360 Trainer Cups to try out.

The cup holds 7oz of water and it really is amazing! I have lost count at the amount of cups we have own over the years but this one is definitely at the top.

The cups' 360 name comes from the fact that your child can drink from it at any point around the rim. Your child is encouraged to work their muscles to suck. This opens the seal so they can get the water then it seals itself when your child is finished so you don't have any spills or leaks. The only thing E struggles with a little is tipping it up so I need to give her a hand but she is better at doing that now than she was a few months ago. I feel like it's really given her confidence and it has become one of our favourites.

It comes with the lid, tumbler and double handle so it's really easy to clean too.

The cup is BPA free and suitable from 6 months+.

Drinkstuff Mason Jars

With summer just around the corner, and hopefully good weather, it will be barbecues aplenty and lots of outdoor parties with the family.

I recently received a set of 4 Plastic Mason Drinking Jars with straws from Drinkstuff to try out.

The jars have that glass look but they are made from BPA-free plastic so they are suitable for all ages. They are shaped like the American Mason jars which make them so funky - I've wanted some for ages!
Each jar holds 20oz so that's more than enough to hold your favourite beverage. The jars each come with screw top lids with holes in the middle for the straws. Each straw has a ridge to keep it in place.

These have very quickly become my favourite thing to drink from. They are perfect for any beverage although I did find that anything fizzy tended to rise up the straw on it's own so I had to take the straw out whilst I was drinking from it.

The jars are handwash only.

Shaken Udder Kids Milkshakes

C is at the age where he loves to copy mummy and daddy. Daddy always wears a cap so C always has to wear a hat and mummy wears glasses so C is always putting his sunglasses on. Daddy has an obsession with chocolate milkshake so every time he has some, C is sniffing around and wanting share.

When we were given the chance to try Shaken Udder's range of kids milkshakes, I joyfully accepted as I knew C would be delighted with them. We received the three different flavours; banana, strawberry and chocolate.

The Shaken Udder Kids Milkshakes are 100% natural, low fat and they contain less than 5% sugar. The cartons are 200ml which are the perfect size for children and they've been school approved for lunchboxes too.

They are made with 93% semi-skimmed milk so they are great way to get some calcium into your child along with vitamin B12. Calorie-wise, the banana and strawberry flavours are 68cal with the chocolate one being 70cal so I had no worries about letting C drink them. The milkshakes all contain real strawberries, bananas and chocolate too.

These milkshakes contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, they are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten free.

C absolutely adored every flavour and he would have drank them all in the space of a few days if I'd let him. The cartons are brightly coloured so they're great to target at kids and the thick straw meant it was easy to get the milkshake out. We enjoyed ours in the house and out and about as they are easy to carry about!

Haberman Toddler Cups - Review

Haberman are a range of baby products that are designed to market innovative baby and toddler feeding products to help build confidence and independence. 

C was lucky enough to be sent two of their toddler cups to test out. He usually uses straw cups but we really worry about the effect that they are having on his teeth and gums. 

Firstly, we tried out the anywayup Cow Beaker (£4.99). 

I love the little design on this one. At the beginning, I did think he'd struggle as he isn't used to tipping a cup up to get his juice out but he surprised me. The only times he'd get really frustrated was when he'd almost finished his juice and was trying to get the last remnants out but we've perserved. The shape of the beaker makes it really easy for him to hold and it's very easy to wash. As you can probably tell by the name "anywayup", the clever spout doesn't spill any juice out when it is left tipped over or held upside down. 

This beaker is recommended for children aged 12months+, it has a 250ml capacity, is BPA free and is also dishwasher and microwave safe. 

Next, we tried the 360° Junior Beaker (£5.95). 

I must be honest and say that C has been less than impressed with this beaker which is the complete opposite to how I feel about it! When I first opened it out and filled it, I ran in shrieking, "oh my goodness this is the best cup ever!" The rim is made from a rubbery material and there are little slits the entire way around so your child can drink from anywhere around it. The juice only comes out when there is pressure on it so I can hold it upside down and nothing will spill! 

C is currently finding it a bit hard to work out how to use it but as it's recommended for children aged 24months+ and C is only turning 2 at the end of September, we still have time yet. I will definitely be teaching him as much as I can because it's such a great design for a toddler cup and it will help the transition from beaker to proper cup! 

This beaker also has a 250ml capacity, is BPA free and dishwasher and microwave safe. As you can see, we received the blue cup but it is also available in green and red too.
