BRUZZ Nail Brush

I love my fingernails. I keep them long and unpainted and I always get compliments on them. Having long fingernails means that I always need to keep them clean and tidy. I'm not a fan of standard nail brushes as the bristles tend to dig in and I just don't like them. 

Emma, a Surrey-based beauty therapist and former cabin crew member for British Airways has revolutionised the nail care industry with the world's first nail brush invention - BRUZZ. It is designed to make nail cleaning fast, easy, less messy and more hygienic. 

During the creators time as a cabin crew member, meticulously clean nails were an essential part of the job. Add this to dealing with inferior nail brushes in her salon and she just knew she needed something that suited her clients and herself.  

You can tell just by looking at a BRUZZ brush that it's not your usual nail brush. The rubber 'bristles' shoot out in multiple directions ensuring that the top, underside and tip of the nails are all cleaned properly. The bristles are infused with vanilla extract so your nails are left looking healthy and smelling beautiful too. 

All you need to do is add some liquid soap into the middle of the brush and get cleaning. The rounded edges keep all the liquid inside so you are getting water splattered everywhere. 

The bristles themselves are removable so they can be cleaned easily ensuring that hygiene levels are kept high. These bristles are suitable for dishwashers. 

The BRUZZ is so soft that it can be used on acrylics, gels, gel polish, fibreglass and all kinds of nail art as well as on toenails too. 

I've recently started to introduce it to C too. He is a typical muddy boy so his fingernails do get filthy quite quickly. The shape of the BRUZZ enables him to hold it easily but I do have to help him move it or his hand as he's not so good at multitasking yet! 

Emma says, "The whole process was a real eye-opener. I had to make lots of adjustments as the brush had to be beneficial for both nail technicians and as an everyday bathroom essential, and I've driven my husband mad in the process! I'm not the biggest 'girlie girl' in the world, quite the opposite in fact, but I do love having my nails looking lovely.

Rokit have launched a brand new gel manicure kit that promises to give you salon quality nails in the comfort of your own home and I couldn't wait to put it to the test.

The kit includes:

• Rokit Professional LED Curing Lamp
• Two sided nail file/buffer
• x20 lint free cleaning pads
• 5ml Rokit One Stop Gel Polish
• 50ml Rokit Ready
• 50ml Rokit Remove

Firstly, you need to prep your nails by filing and shaping them then pushing back cuticles. Following this, you use a lint free cleansing pad to apply a small amount of Rokit ready which cleans yours nails in preparation for application.

Next, you apply one even thin coat of Rokit One Step Gel Polish then put your nails under the LED curing lamp for one minute. It switches on using the black button and you need to time it yourself. When the minute is up, apply a second coat and put your nails back under, this time for 2.5 mins. The lamp is set to turn off after 2.5 minutes which is great as no doubt I'd end up losing count! It is recommended to do four nails on one hand, four nails on the other then the two thumb nails which makes it very easy to use. I originally thought that it may be a pain and take ages but the kit eliminates drying time so I think it ends up being even quicker AND it looks better = win-win.

I absolutely love how it is left my nails looking and it will definitely be used a lot. The gel nails stay at a great quality for up to 14 days. Usually after painting my nails they're chipping after a few days!

Removal is easy too. Just pour some of the Rokit Remove into a bowl and rub off your nails using a lint free cleansing pad.

Girlz Nailz Nail Wrap Review

I've never tried nail wraps before. I can just about paint my nails without mess and don't even start me on false nails - only had those done once (professionally) for my formal.

Girlz Nailz very kindly sent me a set of their nail wraps to try out. I opted for 'Random Hearts'. Cute, right? I'll admit, I've had these for over a month and hadn't used them because, 1) They scared me and I thought I'd put them on wrong and, 2) I wanted an occasion to wear them!

Yesterday was my partner's little brothers Christening so it was the perfect opportunity to give them a shot. The instructions seemed easy enough so off I went.

It took me around 45 minutes to put them on (how hard was it to do my right hand?!) but like I said, I'm a total newbie. I'd like to think that I've got the technique perfected now.

I don't think I did too badly! I'd definitely use these again as it's an easy way to get nice nail art without the stress! I even had some compliments on them. 2 days later and they're still going strong.
