Get your Children Drinking More Water with Infruition!

C is always asking for "a drink of juice". When he was a little younger, he refused to have water on its own so I resorted to adding a little squash in and now he can't get enough of it. I'm well aware of how much sugar can be in these drinks so I try to dilute his water as much as possible.

Infruition sent us a couple of their bottles to try out and see if it can get him drinking more ordinary water. The Infruition bottles are regular, on-the-go flasks but they have a little plastic container inside for you to add your own fruit into. The fruit then infuses into the water to flavour it naturally.

I'm lucky in the fact that, while C hates veggies, he could live on fruit so we always buy a lot. I was excited to get trying lots of different fruit combinations and seeing which worked best. We tried everything from oranges to raspberries and kiwis. I thought he might be a little apprehensive to try drinking from a cup other than his usual one but the novelty of it made him go for it. I was shocked when he seemed to really enjoy it and kept asking for more.

The flavours infuse well and I've found that they work better when you've sliced the fruit rather than just putting in full raspberries, blueberries or any type of berry really! The bottle was a little hard for C to use by himself but he is only (almost!) 3 so I wasn't very surprised. I only have one minor niggle and that it that I would prefer if the lid opened out a bit my glasses and nose always get in the way of me drinking from it.

I think these bottles would be great for children and teenagers to get them to drink more water during the summer. I am also one for never drinking unflavoured water so they are perfect for me too. The bottles hold 600ml and have a fab silicone lid which closes tightly to prevent leaking. It is also BPA-free and suitable for the dishwasher (with the exception of the lid and fruit chamber). I love that when you have finished the water, there is no need to change the fruit, just top up the water. Chris has actually claimed one for himself to bring to work!

The Infruition bottles retail at £15.99 each and are available in green, red, yellow and blue.

You can find out more at the Infruition website and you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter

itsyourstory Personalised Water Bottle Review

If you're a regular reader, you'll know that I have an obsession with personalised items.

You may remember that I reviewed a story book from itsyourstory at Father's Day, you can read that here. Now, they have sent us a rather fabulous personalised water bottle!

How adorable is this!? Being a nerdy family, we had to choose the Superhero bottle but they're also available in:
  • Explorer
  • Pirate
  • Cheeky Monkey
  • Pop Star
  • Fire Fighter
  • Little Monster
  • Flamenco Dancer
  • Footballer
  • Nurse
  • Rock Star
  • Cow boy/girl
  • Princess
  • Farmer
  • Knight
You're bound to find something that your child will like!

We received a white bottle but you can also choose silver if you wish. All you need to do is supply your childs name and a front facing photograph. I'm so pleased with mine!

It comes with a plastic flip top lid AND a screw top lid with fob attachment so it's easy to carry around. I've been clipping it to the side of the pram.

Although C is only 12 months old, he is able to drink from it (with my help holding it though)! It's such great quality (made from hard-wearing aluminium) and is scratch and chip resistant so I know it will last him a very long time so he'll probably end up bringing it to school!  I have found that the aluminium will keep drinks cold for a good amount of time.

These would make a great personalised and unique gift for a child of any age.

At a price of £14.00 for a 500ml bottle, I would definitely recommend these. You're also assured that your child won't be accidentally lifting someone else's drinks bottle.

itsyourstory also sell matching mugs! Awesome! Might have to get my partner one!
