Kleenbots Nappies - Review

When C was a newborn, we tried and tested lots of nappy brands on the market and eventually settled on Asda's Little Angels ones. We have never had a problem with them and decided we'd use them again when E was born. When Kleenbots were looking for reviewers, I jumped at the chance as Asda have slightly rebranded and changed and we had more leaks so we were on the lookout for a replacement. I'd never heard of the Kleenbots brand before so I was eager to give them a try.

Kleenbots are available in sizes 1-4 so I opted for size 4 as that's what E usually wears. We received one pack of 30 nappies and for a size 4, I thought that they were a little bigger than her usual ones but not so much that she'd leak. Firstly, I love the packaging. The bright purple is really lovely and the little image of a baby sleeping is exactly what you want - a nappy that your baby feels is comfortable and makes them sleep all through the night!

The design on the actual nappies are sweet too. You have the Kleenbots brand name across the top and little teddies dotted around the front and back - lovely for little ones!

When I first opened the nappies out I realised that they are very soft, both inside and out, so I had no qualms with putting it on my child's sensitive bottom. They are very stretchy and quite strong too, pulling them didn't tear any tabs off. E seemed really comfortable in them and could move and kick about as much as she wanted.

I'm pleased to report that we haven't had a single leak since using them which has really impressed me!

The nappies can be bought in bulk from the Kleenbots website from around 180-300 per box depending on size for only £31.04-41.00 (again, size dependant). Also, you can try a smaller sample of Kleenbots (3 nappies) and all you have to do it cover the cost of posting which is only £1.19 max. I think this is a fab idea as you don't have to commit to a big box right away and you can test out if they really work for you.

You can find out more at the Kleenbots website and you can also keep up to date on Facebook and Twitter.

Becky Mantin's Nappy Grab Bag

Every Monday, Chris's mum takes our eldest, C, out for the day. I pack up our changing bag with everything he might need for the day. This means that if we are taking E out, we are changing bag-less and we have to find something else to put her nappies, wipes, etc. in.

Becky Mantin (you may recognise her from presenting ITV Weather) has developed a Nappy Grab Bag which is a handy little pouch that contains everything you need for a nappy change and it can fit right in your back pocket. When I first heard about the bag, I couldn't wait to try it next time we were out with E.

The Nappy Grab Bags include:

  • One Naty nappy (in size of your choice)
  • Four Jackson Reece baby wipes
  • One sachet of Weleda Nappy Change Cream
I love the fact that these particular brands are included. I reviewed Naty nappies a while ago and I raved about how they are a greener, environmentally friendly disposable nappy. The bag has a bio-degradable polythene outer wrap sealed with an adhesive sustainably sourced paper label. The Jackson Reece brand is perfect for babies with sensitive skin too so the fact that the items are kind to E's skin and good for the environment makes it a winner in my book.

The bag itself folds out and can be used as a changing mat and it even has a built-in nappy sack at the foot for disposing of the dirty nappy. Once the change is finished, you simply roll the nappy up, seal it with the adhesive label and dispose in the bin - easy!

Chris especially liked this as it was a lot more discreet and less girly than him carrying my Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bag! I wouldn't use these when I'm out with both children, obviously, as I need to be able to carry as much as possible but for outings with just one child - they're perfect!

The Becky Mantin Nappy Grab Bag makes nappy changing quick, easy and stress-free! The bags retail at a price of £9.95 for a multipack of 5 and they are available in nappy sizes 1-6. You can find them at Ocado and they will be available on Amazon from June 2015.

You can find out more at the Becky Mantin website and you can also keep up to date on Facebook and Twitter.

Baby Bathing & Changing Wishlist

Now that I'm past the 20 week mark, I've been starting to think about what to buy for the new baby. Although I've done this all before, it's still really exciting, especially that this time round it's a girl so I can inject a bit of pink in!

I've put together a little wishlist for baby in the theme of Bathing & Changing.

1) Upsy Daisy Bath Set (Lollipop Lane - £29.99)

This little set is absolutely gorgeous and includes a baby bath with plug and back support, top and tail bowl with soap dish, towel cuddle robe, wash mitt and thermometer.

2) Upsy Daisy Changing Mattress (Lollipop Lane - £9.99)

How cute is this changing mat? It's from the same range as the bath set so will match perfectly!

I know I already have a baby bath on my list but how lovely is this!? I love the pattern of the sling. Can't I get both and just alternate using them!?

In my eyes, you can never have enough hooded towels! C has loads but it still seems like we're always running around looking for one!

5) Angelcare Nappy Disposal System (Mothercare - £14.99)

I know a lot of people have said that these nappy bins are one of the expenses that you don't really need. I was lucky enough to win one of the disposal systems on Angelcare's Facebook page and I'm really excited to try it out.

6) Pink Minnie Mouse Hooded Towel (ASDA - £7.00)

9) Johnson's Baby Essentials Box (ASDA - £5.00)

10) Saplings 3-tier Changer, White (Tesco - £85.00)

11) Upsy Daisy Nappy Stacker (Lollipop Lane - £19.99)

This nappy stacker is from the same range as the bath set and changing mat so again, will match!

What do you think of my choices? Would you purchase any or do you already own any?

(Disclaimer: I did not receive any compensation for this post. I just wanted to share my wishlist.)

JJ Cole Metra Unisex Changing Bag in Blue Diamond - Review

The changing bag that we were using was a beautiful Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bag. Yes, it was lovely but I'm sure Chris felt a bit awkward carrying such a girly bag when out on his own. Enter the JJ Cole Metra Blue Diamond changing bag.

Blue is one of my favourite colours and combined with the grey and black, it makes the perfect unisex bag.

Firstly, it's a lot deeper than any other changing bag that we have used and we were taken aback by how many compartments it had.

At the front we have a small zipped compartment and a larger zipped triangular pouch. You are able to lift the smaller compartment up to reveal an area to keep little bits and bobs.

The side have two insulated bottle holders and it even comes with a dummy holder!

Inside the bag, we have the main area but it also has a variety of mesh and fabric pouches so that you can easily find everything. They are a generous size too.

Directly in front of the main part, there is a slightly hidden zip. Again, this is really spacious and stores the changing mat. The mat is very compact but opens out and even has a pouch to hold a nappy and wipes.

The shoulder strap is padded and extendable but my favourite but about the bag is the stroller hooks. I'd never seen them before but they are genius!!

It is a really gorgeous bag and I think it's the first one that Chris has genuinely liked - hurrah! It's easily wiped clean and has plenty of space. What more could you ask for!?

The JJ Cole Metra Blue Diamond changing bag retails at £54.99 and you can purchase it here.

Pink Lining "Yummy Mummy" Changing Bag - Review

A few weeks ago, I received the best delivery ever - a gorgeous Pink Lining "Yummy Mummy" Green Dragonflies changing bag!

I got so excited when I saw the box and almost cried at its beauty when I took it out. I couldn't wait to get testing it out.

We don't drive and we walk everywhere with the pram so our changing bag gets used a lot. I keep everything baby related inside it plus, it also gets used as my handbag too - I don't see the point in having two bags hanging over the buggy.

On first impression, obviously the outer dragonfly design is beautiful with a gorgeous cupcake on the pocket and embroidered with "Yummy Mummy". The pocket has a magnetic fastener which comes in so handy when quickly closing it when you're finished with it.

Also on the outside are two insulated bottle holders. There are no zips to fiddle with so they're so convenient for putting bottles in and out of.

The inside is probably the girliest inner of changing bag I've ever seen. It is a haven of pink but there are so many useful pouches inside.

There are 2 nappy pockets and I am able to squeeze 2 nappies into each which is a great as 4 nappies lasts me a full day. In addition to this, there is a small zip pocket where I'll keep a small tube of nappy cream. The bag includes a padded changing mat too. For a mat that comes free with a changing bag, this is amazing quality. C seems so comfortable on it.

Changing mat
As I mentioned earlier, I also use my changing bag as my handbag and Pink Lining have really incorporated that into this bag. It includes a pen holder which is fab as I always need a pen and never have one. This is reminded me to carry one! As well as a key fob, a small mirror and phone pocket! Amazing and so thoughtful.

There are two ways to carry the bag too, small handles to hold or a strap to go over your arm or buggy. The strap is easy to loosen or tighten so it can be hung at a convenient level.

My favourite aspect, being a cloth mummy, is the zipped wet bag. In my old changing bag, I always brought a plastic carrier bag with me to place my used cloth nappies in until I got home. This addition to the bag is fantastic. It's so simple but made me so happy! I don't have to worry about anything in my bag getting wet or forgetting the house without a bag.

I have had this bag around a month and it has not got a speck of dirt on it due to the wipe clean outer material. I am so impressed with it and I could not recommend a changing bag more. This bag is currently on sale from £79 down to £50 so it is well worth picking one up! You really won't regret it.

You can find Pink Lining at their website, Facebook & Twitter.

Changing to Cloth Nappies

Back in April, 4 Manchester Women hosted a competition during Real Nappy Week. Eve from Baba + Boo was offering the winner 3 cloth nappies. I wasn't the winner, but I had posted in a comment that I'd wanted to use cloth, but I had never given it enough thought and research. Eve very kindly sent me a cloth nappy to try out.

I received the Moo nappy with 2 microfibre inserts.

I always thought that you had to buy disposable inserts but that's not the case! As these are microfibre, they can be washed and reused too!
I couldn't wait to try it. I first put it on C in the middle of the day for 2.5 hours (it's suggested that 1 liner can be used for 2-3 hours, but you can use both liners for up to 6 hours). At first, the buttons were a little bit confusing but with a little playing about, I got it fitted properly. We had no leaks whatsoever and I was really shocked at how easy it was!

I put it straight in the wash and have been using it once every day for the past four days. I can't believe I was so scared to use them before. I've definitely been converted and I'm hoping to now build up my cloth nappy stash so I can get rid of disposables for good!

(Disclaimer: I did receive this nappy free of charge but I was not required to write a review. I wanted to share my thoughts with my readers. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)
