Baker Days Letterbox Cake Review

Baker Days recently contacted me asking if I'd like to review one of their letterbox cakes. With Father's Day coming up, I thought a cake would make a great gift and opted for one from the Father's Day category of their site.

I am always a bit wary of cakes. I usually only like to buy one from my local bakery where I know it is handmade and fresh or make one myself! It arrived really quickly, 4 days before Father's Day, but we opened it anyway.

It came in a beautiful reusable cake tin with a small packet of Love Hearts - great touch!

The cake itself is sealed inside a bag with instructions on how to take it out carefully.

The design on the cake was very, very cute and perfect for my partner from our little boy. There was a slight dent in it from the bag having been pressed into it but we didn't mind!

It was a ginger cake - something that I'd never tried before - and I was really surprised with it! The sponge was so crumbly and not too dry (there's nothing I dislike more than a dry cake) and it was really creamy. We both went back for seconds - and thirds!

Also included in our box were a gift tag that you can fill in yourself and a leaflet telling you about the range of different cakes that Baker Days sell.

We were both so pleased and impressed with the cake. As I now live away from my family, I definitely think that I'll be purchasing these for them for birthdays etc.

The letterbox cake retails at £14.99. Their other sizes include Small Party Cake (£26.99), Medium Party Cake (£35.00) and Large Party Cake (£45.00) and they do a wide range from New Baby to Retirement designs.

You can find Baker Days at their website, Facebook or Twitter.

They've very kindly offered my readers 20% off using the code RebP23 (valid for 3 months).

Happy eating!

(Disclaimer: We received this cake free of charge in exchange for an open and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)
